Sleepcare Ltd. is as subsidiary of the A-Fontane Group.

The A-Fontane Group started out as a small family business manufacturing bed linen and in 1979 belonged to the first group of industries in Hong Kong to move its manufacturing facilities across the border to China. In the beginning, the factory was located in Shenzhen City and covered an area of about 4000 square meters. With expansion of the business, the factory moved to a new plant on the outskirts of Shenzhen. Today, the factory covers an area of 20,000 square meters and employs around 1000 workers. Besides bedlinen, the factory also manufactures curtains, comforters, pillows and mattresses. The factory attained the Quality Management System ISO9001:2001.

In 1995, A-Fontane invested in its own printing factory on the island of Hainan in the South of China with an area of 30 000 square meters employing 500 workers. The factory offers pigment and reactive print. Rotary, panel and photographic print are available in a width of up to 290cm. The factory has been able to attain the Environmental Management System ISO14000:1996, as well as the Ökoetex-Standard 100.

The brand A-Fontane was awarded the Hong Kong Top Ten Brandnames Award twice: Once in 1999 as one of the Top Ten and in the year 2002 as recipient of the Honorary Award, which was awarded for the first time ever.

In 1997 the Hong Kong headoffice decided to divert the business into the field of sleep technology. Thus the company Sleepcare Ltd. was founded, specializing in healthcare studies and research and development of Sleepcare products.

Today, Sleepcare products are available in twelve countries, with a growing market share.
